I have read the rules carefully and I am now fully confident I am ready for marriage. Better get that Turkey ready. My favorites are "his topics of conversation is more important than your", "Never question him" and the part about me knowing my place.

Wow, that's amazing. Doesn't even appear to be satire. Sometimes I think, surely it couldn't really have been like that back then, and maybe a Housekeeping magazine isn't representative of America-at-large in that period.
